Actor, Mathew Perry, who was best known for playing the role of Chandler Bing on the hit NBC sitcom “Friends”, has died at the age of 54, LA Times reported.
Perry was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home at around 4:00 PM, law enforcement sources confirmed to LA Times, adding that there was no sign of foul play.
However, the Los Angeles Police Department’s robbery-homicide detectives are investigating the actor’s death.
The police department did not reveal more details because the investigation is ongoing.
Mathew Perry was the son of actor John Bennett Perry and Suzanne Marie Langford, one-time press secretary of Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.
Perry gained international popularity and recognition for his role of Chandler on the hit NBC sitcom “Friends”, which ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004.
He also received a Primetime Emmy nomination for the role in 2002.
The actor also appeared in other television series like “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip”, “Go On”, and “The Odd Couple”.
Perry scored two Emmy nominations in 2003 and 2004 for outstanding guest actor in a drama series for his role as Joe Quincy in “The West Wing”.
