Indiana Jones 5 cast – Phoebe Waller Bridge Joins In

Fleabag creator and exceptionally talented Phoebe Waller Bridge is all set to join the highly anticipated Indiana Jones 5 lineup, alongside the acting veteran Harrison Ford. Set for a traditional cinema release, the final chapter of this adventure thriller is scheduled to premiere in July, 2022, the Lucasfilm announced recently.

‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’, the fourth film in the Indiana Jones series came out in 2008, and turned out to be the second highest grossing film of the then year. The fourth chapter had portrayed the fan-favorite archaeologist Dr. Jones hunting the legendary Crystal Skull of Akator, the similar artifact the Soviets were in search of.

Ever since 2008, the Indiana Jones franchise had been on a long hiatus, with no signs of the fifth and final episode. However, after almost 14 years of time lag, the long-waited Indiana Jones 5 is final coming to the big screens, the Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilms pronounced in 2020. With that being said, the preparations for the interval movie are in full swings, starting off with the casting. The movie is supposed to start filming in August 2021.

Fifth film cast

The 78 years old legendary Harrison Ford is all equipped to return to the fifth franchise as the beloved fedora-wearing, whip-slinging archaeologist Dr. Indiana Jones. And, although his future thrilling ventures are still a secret to the world, a huge lineup of fresh and old faces from the previous movies will be joining the great Dr. Jones, as both associates and antagonists.

In addition to this, James Mangold is taking over directing reins from Steven Spielberg, who is still serving as a producer and is therefore involved in multiple elements of the film. Also, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel will join Spielberg as producers.

John Williams, who has worked on every score in the franchise including its iconic theme, will also return as composer for the Indiana Jones 5.

Phoebe Waller Bridge added to Indiana Jones 5 franchise

Besides the past master Harrison Ford, another big name from the Indiana Jones 5 lineup has been unveiled by the team.

The artistic, hypnotic and spectacular television and film actress Phoebe Waller Bridge has joined in the fifth installment of the acclaimed series, and is geared up to star as the leading lady alongside Dr. Jones. However, her character is still a top-secret.

Phoebe Waller Bridge is a phenomenal actress, originator and producer, best known as the creator, head writer, and star of the BBC tragicomedy series ‘Fleabag.’ The actress is also celebrated for her television adaptation ‘Killing Eve.’ Both of her masterpieces rank among the 100 greatest television series of the 21st century.

The actress has dozens of accolades to her name, including a British Academy Television Award for Best Female Comedy Performance, three Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards among others. And, Phoebe Waller Bridge is once again ready to bag a few more titles with the forthcoming Indiana Jones 5.

Talking about latest addition into Indiana Jones family, director Marigold stated,

“When you add Phoebe, a dazzling actor, brilliant creative voice and the chemistry she will undoubtedly bring to our set, I can’t help but feel as lucky as Indiana Jones himself.”
