‘Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of A Serial Killer’ Trailer is Out Now

The trailer for ‘Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer’ has finally been dropped on social media, starring Ayesha Omar and Yasir Hussain in lead roles. The highly-anticipated film is based on real life events and offers something different for viewers who are more accustomed to watching love stories on their TV screens.

Yasir Hussain plays the lead role of a serial killer in the film, while Ayesha Omar will be seen portraying a police officer, who played a key role in the investigation into the case. The upcoming film ‘Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer’ is based on the life of notorious Pakistani serial killer Javed Iqbal.

Javed Iqbal was an active serial killer between 1998 and 1999 in Lahore, who not only sexually harassed but brutally murdered more than 100 children and put their bodies in acid. He was also known to send evidence of his crimes to the authorities and media.

He was sentenced to death by the court on March 16, 2000, saying that he was guilty. The court ordered his body to be hanged in front of the children’s families with the same chain that was used by him to murder all those children. However, the sentencing could not be carried out as Javed Iqbal and his accomplice were both found dead in Kot Lakhpat Jail on October 9, 2001.

The film is directed by Abu Aliha and produced under the banner of KK Films Productions. The film will be releasing in theatres nationwide on December 24.
