Kinza Hashmi and Sami Khan starrer ‘Mohlat’ teasers are out

The strikingly gorgeous Kinza Hashmi and the charismatic Sami Khan are coming together for the first time onscreen with Geo TV’s forthcoming thriller ‘Mohlat’ the teasers for which are finally dropped. And, even though the drama is far from a passionate love tale, this newest pairing, with their endearing romance already has all eyes.

Pakistani entertainment channels are progressively moving ahead of the typical love triangles and family politics, and are rather opting for a powerful and diverse timelines. It is therefore the reason more and more television serials speaking exclusive narratives or real life issues are surfacing.

Likewise, Geo TV has also given up on its intense love element. Hence, when majority expected its forthcoming drama serial ‘Mohlat’ to be a love triangle, the entertainment giant had some other plans.

With that being said, the first look of highly anticipated Kinza Hashmi and Sami Khan starrer Mohlat is unveiled, and as the teasers suggest, it is much more than an archetypal love triangle or a dreamy fiction of two love birds.

Drama serial Mohlat is being produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi under the banner of 7th Sky Entertainment, whereas Saima Waseem serves as the director. The script of this intense saga has been penned down by Mann Mayal and Chup Raho’s famed Saima Fazal.

Starring the emerging starlet Kinza Hashmi as an antagonist central alongside the veteran Sami Khan, Mohlat is a penetrating tale of jealousy, greed and aching sacrifices.

As assumed from the teasers, Kinza Hasmi’s character named Maham, is that of an imposter, who is exploiting Sami Khan (Dawar) for evil benefits that too against his mother. However, Dawar, being madly in love with her, is blind to the mind games, Maham is plotting.

Furthermore, when first teaser is all about Kinza Hashmi and Sami khan and gives a few glimpses of mother-daughter in law clash, the second teaser gives a little about the timeline, and is centered on the second female lead Komal Aziz Khan.

Komal Aziz Khan has embraced the character of Novera, a helpless, innocent, unfortunate daughter, who has suffered negligence and abandonment ever since she was born. Consequently, she is the one at the receiving end of Maham’s brutality and cunning schemes. However, Maham and Novera’s relationship with each other is to be discovered later.

Moreover, besides the leading trio of Kinza Hashmi, Sami Khan and Komal Aziz Khan, drama serial Mohlat comprises of a huge star-studded cast, with television veteran Bushra Ansari, playing Sami Khan’s mother. Other cast members are Tanveer Jamal, Asma Abbas, Sabeena Farooq, Javeria Abbasi, Aadi, Usama Khan, Daniyal Afzal, Saife Hassan, Nida Mumtaz and Sharif Baloch.

The official synopsis of Mohlat, presented by Geo TV reads,

“Presenting a heart-rending portrayal of a broken family in which a daughter strives to meet her family’s expectations but sacrifices her own.”

In addition, where official plot details are still under wrap, the little vision given by Raaz-e-ulfat star Daniyal Afzal about Geo TV’s Mohlat was,

“It cannot be termed as a love story. It’s about running after your desires and dreams notoriously and crushing the affected right, left and center without thinking twice.”

The drama serial will hit out television screens soon after Ramadan, but the official premiere dates are yet to be announced.
