Marvel Studio’s critically acclaimed action series Loki has been renewed for a season 2 at Disney+, the platform announced during the end credits of the show’s finale episode. Hence, the journey for Tom Hiddleston starrer isn’t over yet, and the steamer has loads of new mischief up its sleeve, coming forth in near future.
Loki is the third series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be premiered on Disney Plus. And, as discovered lately, is the first series to get renewed for a second season.
The first title of the Marvel Studio was the high status “WandaVision,” starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, which earned 23 Emmy nominations on Tuesday. However, soon after its closing moments, the series was confirmed to have reached its finale by the Scarlet Witch herself.
Moreover, the second, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, scored five Emmy nominations. And, even though the series is not expected to have a second installment, it acts as a bridge to the next “Captain America” film.
Furthermore, back in February, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige had commented on the potential for additional seasons of the Disney+ shows, hedging that any plans to bring a series back for more episodes “will be dictated by the story” of Marvel’s other TV shows and films.
“The fun of the MCU is all of the crossover between series and films. Sometimes [a show] will go into a Season 2, and sometimes it will go into a movie and then back into a series,” Feige said at the time.
He also teased that, in the cases of upcoming shows like Moon Knight and She-Hulk, “we are keeping in mind a structure that will lead into a Season 2 or 3 [on those shows], and more than a show like WandaVision that clearly goes into a feature film (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, out March 2022).”
Hence, as said by Feige, Marvel rarely opts for a second season to any series. Yet, the case is quite different with the studio’s highly cherished ‘Loki’ that is getting renewed for season 2 at Disney+.

Starring the enigmatic Tom Hiddleston as the titular character, Marvel Studio’s Loki, centered on the God of Mischief, who steps out of his brother’s shadow to embark on an adventure, that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.”
In addition, the six-episode first season of Loki also starred Owen Wilson as Agent Mobius, Sophia Di Martino (Casualty) as Sylvie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw (The Morning Show) as Judge Ravonna Renslayer and Wunmi Mosaku (Lovecraft Country) as Hunter B-15.
And, as soon as the series reached its supposed finale with episode 6 on Wednesday, the audience was astounded with bombshell news of Loki’s season 2 in the pipeline for future. Hence, marvel’s topnotch Disney+ series isn’t bidding goodbyes yet, and has much more mischief to offer.

At the 42 minutes and 48 seconds mark of the episode, it simply stated, “Loki will return in season 2.”
