The popular video streaming service Netflix has made some educational films free on its YouTube channel on the request of teachers to make it accessible to more students.
These educational films by Netflix include some documentaries and series including Our Planet and Explained which are now available for free on the company’s YouTube channel.
These educational films that Netflix is now providing free of cost on YouTube were earlier present on its own streaming service where Netflix charges a monthly subscription fee to viewers who can than watch anything from TV shows, movies, documentaries and all sorts of educational content available in its library.

The Netflix library available to users although depends on the the region the user belongs as content available in some regions might not be available in others however, a lot of content is available globally and you wouldn’t normally notice the difference due to ample amount of titles available.
This decision by Netflix to make some of the educational films free on its YouTube channel comes when most schools around the world are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic and most schools, teachers and students are looking towards online classes and virtual tooks to fill in the gap.
Netflix has seen a rise in its popularity and usage since the lockdown as internet usage has sky rocketed with more people staying home. Although the company faces a tight competition in the video streaming market from the likes of Apple TV+ and Disney+ which has obtained a significant amount of paid subscribers since its launch.
