SINDH: Sarmad Khoosat will not release his film Zindagi Tamasha. He has been receiving threats and now the provincial governments have issued notices to put a restriction on the exhibition of the film.
The film will not be released until the final decision.
Sindh Board of Films Censor (SBFC) puts restrictions on the exhibition of the film ‘Zindagi Tamasha’.
SBFC has issued a notice on 21 January, as the board is of the view its release may create unrest within the religious segment of the society and may deteriorate and be detrimental to the peaceful circumstance in the country.
The government of Punjab has also issued a notice for Mr. Sarmad Sultan Khoosat. The notice reiterates in the wake of persistent complaints received from different quarters, the Punjab Government has decided to re-examine the film Zindagi Tamasha.

A pamphlet by TLP is circulating social media which stated the film disrespects the religion of Islam. The protest was scheduled for 22 January, which has been called off following the restriction on the release by the provincial governments.

Sarmad Khoosat Receives Threats
Sarmad Khoosat has been receiving threats. He wrote in his open letter to Pakistanis and has informed his film Zindagi Tamasha has been cleared of all censors from all three censor boards.
He also said the film had its world premiere at the Busan International film festival. It also became the first Pakistani featured film (fiction) to win an award at the major international film festival.
He is heartbroken and saddened as he worked on the film for over two years.

Sarmad Khoosat seems to be getting a lot of support on social media. The tweeter is flooded with tweets in his support.
while there are many supporters there are also some who do not support him.
The Central Film Censor Board has decided to immediately consult the Islamic Ideological Council for a critical review of the film “Life Spectacle”. The producer was also directed to postpone the release of the film.
