Pakistani singer and guitarist Haniya Aslam, known for her role in the iconic ‘Zeb and Haniya’ duo, passed away early on Monday.
The news was confirmed by a statement from her family and Zab Bangash, her partner in the famous musical duo, who shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram.
“Hanini,” Bangash wrote alongside a series of photos of Aslam on Instagram, confirming her passing. Aslam reportedly succumbed to a cardiac arrest.
The duo, known for delivering multiple hits for Pakistan, gained mainstream fame with their unforgettable track ‘Bibi Sanam’ in 2010, which was a big hit on Coke Studio.

Haniya Aslam’s deep passion for music was evident as she once shared in an interview with Youlin Magazine in 2020, saying, “I’m not sure if I started pursuing music or music started pursuing me! I’ve always been really into music, almost to the level of obsession. I vaguely remember wondering how all the musicians fit inside a cassette tape when I was 4 or 5.”
