Amazon studio has finally revealed a comprehensive synopsis for its highly anticipated fantasy, The Lord of the Rings television series, electrifying the fans as they eagerly await the thriller. The series would be a prequel to the 2001’s critically acclaimed film series of the same name and will be premiered in between 2021-2022.
Massively popular fictional adventure, The Lord of the Rings film series, had the audience captivated in the imaginary world of middle-earth from 2001 till 2003. The trilogy had been adapted from the novel of J.R.R. Tolkien and depicted the story of a Hobbit Frodo and his quest to destroy the magical ‘One ring’, in order to bring destruction to its creator, the Dark Lord Sauron.
The Lord of the Rings is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential film series ever made. It was a major financial success and is among the highest-grossing film series of all time with $2.981 billion in worldwide receipts. Each film was enormously applauded, with high praise for their innovative special effects, acting, musical score, and emotional depth, and heavily awarded, the series winning 17 out of its 30 Academy Award nominations.
Amazon to bring back The Lord of the Rings
It has been almost two decades since the dark era of Lord Sauron, and the audience had been craving to return to the magical atmosphere of middle earth. However, the wait is finally over. Streaming giant Amazon prime is all set to bring back the chilling adventures of Hobbit Frodo and the Dark Lord, only this time it is much bigger and better.
The Lord of the Rings television series, comprised of five seasons is already in works with the digital web and is expected in near future. The series would be a prequel to the flicks, and takes place in the Second Age of Middle-earth, which spans a long period of time between the original Dark Lord Morgoth and the first defeat of his servant Sauron. Although, plot details and timelines is still a secret, the platform has given off a bit about its locations and mysterious ventures.

The Lord of the Rings official synopsis revealed by amazon reads,
“Amazon Studios’ forthcoming series brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.”
Furthermore, star face Lenny Henry will be rejoining The Lord of the Rings series, adding to its immense approbation. Alongside Henry would be Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Maxim Baldry, Ian Blackburn, Kip Chapman, Anthony Crum, Trystan Gravelle, Thusitha Jayasundera, Fabian McCallum and more in pivotal avatars.
