Netflix has finally unveiled the official, action packed trailer for its highly anticipated ‘The Witcher season 2’, returning after two whole years of its debut season. Starring the enigmatic Henry Cavill as the titular Geralt of Rivia, the forthcoming installment in the Witcher franchise will premiere on December 17th, 2021.
One of the critically renowned Netflix series, ‘the Witcher’ is based on the book series by legendary writer Andrzej Sapkowski. The series narrates the adventures of Geralt of Rivia, portrayed by the charismatic and artistic Hnery Cavill, and his run-ins with enemies and deadly creatures.
Geralt of Rivia is a solitary monster hunter, with distinct super powers, who kills monsters for money. However, the audacious warrior is struggling to find his place in this world, where people are crueler and wicked than monsters and beasts.
Hence, picking up from where it left, the Witcher season 2 is just around the corner, coming out with newest ventures. And, when the first part was all about the Geralt himself, season 2 of the Netflix series will see Geralt protecting Ciri at is childhood home in the hopes of keeping the young princess safe from the great powers within herself.
Moreover, as assumed from the teasers and trailers, the Witcher season 2 will see the two travels to Kaer Morhen, the mountain fortress of the witchers where Geralt was trained, and where Ciri will be undergoing similar trials to become a witcher herself. And if the teaser is anything to go by, learning to become a witcher is no fun at all.
