‘The Vampire Diaries’ franchise originator Julie Plec is all set to bring another vampire universe to life with ‘Vampire Academy’ live-action TV series. Adapted from the young adult novel of the same name by Richelle Mead, the forthcoming venture has gotten green signals from Peacock, and will kick in production and casting real soon. Moreover, Marguerite MacIntyre will serve as co-showrunner on the scripted drama series.
Julie Plec has given the world one of the most cherished and majorly acclaimed supernatural television series, ‘The Vampire Diaries’ that ran for eight successful seasons on CW, and its two spin-offs ‘The Originals’ and on-going ‘The Legacies.’ The first two parts of young adult drama series had embraced an exceptionally captivating timeline, and therefore garnered immense ratings and public responses. However, the third spin-off that narrates the story of the Mikaelson and Alaric offspring failed to impress the audience that way.
Hence, to continue the legacy of the vampire universe, Julie Plec has finally opted for some fresh beginnings.
With that being said, ‘Peacock’ has recently ordered a 10 episode first season of Julie Plec’s dream project ‘Vampire Academy.’
