It’s time to cancel all other subscriptions and switch to HBO max, as the AT & T owner Warner Bros has declared to release all 2021 movies in theatre and online on HBO max at the same time, including some most anticipated and big-budget titles. The strategy will cover all 17 movies scheduled for debut by the studio next year.
The global pandemic has gravely affected box office and cinemas all over the world. However, to compensate, Hollywood has now adopted a new scheme to ascend its worth in the global market, which is ‘Subscriptions are more important than box office.’ Previously, moviegoers had to wait about 2 and a half month from a film’s theatrical debut before home binging. But now, the cinema chains and content creators are partnering with digital broadcasters, that makes home watching earlier and convenient. And, your most awaited movie titles are just one membership away.
Likewise, Warner Bros. has dropped a golden bombshell on the spectators, by announcing to premiere all 2021 movies in theatres as well as on its sister broadcaster HBO Max simultaneously. Nevertheless, the movie titles will be available on the streamer for a period of time. As mentioned by the studio, after 31 days, all Warner Bros 2021 movies will be taken off.
“It’s a temporary solution to COVID,” Carolyn Blackwood, chief operating officer of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, said in an interview. “We know the U.S. marketplace is the most challenged. Knowing that, and knowing we’re fully committed to theatrical, our question was, How are we going to handle this and create a dynamic that can benefit all of the stakeholders?”
However, the movies could be delayed or carted out from the lineup, depending on then Covid19 situations.
Also, WarnerMedia, after reaching an agreement with the broadcaster is offering a limited deal, making HBO Max 22 percent cheaper for people who sign up for six months. The $69.99 price works out to just under $12 a month instead of $15.
