Zalmi fans cheers at Esra Bilgic being ambassador

Peshawar Zalmi and current crush of Pakistanis Esra Bilgic aka Halime Sultan has something big in store for Pakistan Super League (PSL) fans. Peshawar Zalmi fans are over delighted at the possibility of Esra Bilgic being the brand ambassador for their team in the next PSL season.

With cricket season just around the corner and Pakistani cricket team leaving for England for Pakistan Vs England test series, cricket fans are once again awakening. As there is plenty of time for the test series to start, the die-hard cricket fans, currently obsessed with Turkish television series Ertugral Ghazi started making assumptions about the next ambassadors of PSL teams, joking about if Ertugrul Ghazi stars fill the place.

This topic soon became a trend in the cricket world after Javed Afridi, the owner of franchise Peshawar Zalmi made a tweet about appointing Engin Altan Düzyatan who portrays Ertugrul Ghazi, to be the brand ambassador of the team.

Javed Afridi wrote:

” WHAT IF #ErtugrulGhazi JOIN PESHAWAR ZALMI AS A BRAND AMBASSADOR? “

His tweet ignited fire on twitter, with PSL fans, going crazy over the speculations. His tweet has been retweeted 2.9 K times since then.

Few days after his first tweet, Javed Afridi added fuel to the fire by making another tweet, Saying:

” WHAT IF WE OFFER TO #HalimeSultan AS WELL “

His tweet not only electrified Peshwar Zalmi fans, but whole PSL world obsessed with Halime Sultan, commenting how they are ready to support Zalmi if this happens.

Pakistani journalist and news anchor, Ihtisham ul Haq, jumping on the bandwagon replied to Javed Afridi’s tweet saying:

” I think you want me to work this year with Zalmi. “

This debate went on for quite some time, with Pakistanis enjoying the atmosphere, none taking it seriously, until Halime Sultan(Esra Bilgic) herself stepped in the twitter ground.

The preeminent sensation in Pakistan, Esra Bilgic, who plays the role of Halime Sultan in renown Turkish series Dirilis Ertugrul made a tweet yesterday, hinting a big news for Peshawar Zalmi fans.

Esra wrote:

“I will be sharing some good news with you soon.”

The tweet came from a non-verified account, however, Javed Afridi was tagged. Wahab Riaz, captain of Peshawar Zalmi was also spotted commenting on her tweet.

Soon after her tweet, The owner of Peshawaz Zalmi retweeted her tweet with a caption, “Thankyou.”

So it seems like negotiations have started between Zalmi owners and Esra Bilgic however, no official statement is made yet.

These tweets exhilarated PSL fans, with half population determined for Esra Bilgic to be the brand ambassador of Zalmi. These can be presumed as small gestures by Pakistanis to promote Pak-Turkey brotherhood.

After Esra Bilgic’s tweet, #HalimeSultan is number one trend on twitter in Pakistan With Pakistanis expressing their excitement over the news.
