At least 12 schools were set on fire by unidentified attackers late Thursday night in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Diamer district. Initial reports stated at least six schools were all girls educational institutes situated in Diamer’s Chilas area.

On Saturday CJP (Chief Justice of Pakistan) claims burning schools in Diamer was a ‘plot’ to harm dams initiative. As the dam fund collection has gathered immense support, it has also fallen victim to opposition.

During his address to the Multan Bar Council, Justice Nisar said that Thursday night’s incident when the 12 educational institutes were torched down in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Diamer district as CJP Claims burning schools in Diamer was a plot to harm dams initiative

“Diamer is such a peaceful place. I went to Gilgit-Baltistan a few days ago and was told by sessions judges and locals that it has been years since there has been a robbery or murder in the area,” he told members of the Council. “But as soon as we started talking about building a dam, 12 educational institutions were torched.”

“Who is conspiring against Pakistan? We should think about this. I don’t want to level irresponsible allegations against anyone but I am leaving it as a matter of thought for you people. For the past 60 years, no dam has been built and now that we are trying to build one, there are conspiracies against it.

A very deep message there, every good initiative in Pakistan brings with it many deadly enemies. But Pakistan will not stop its progress at any cost as the people of this country are brave warriors.
