The Islamabad Traffic Police has issued a traffic diversion plan for heavy vehicles on the occasion of Pakistan Day, March 23, 2025.
Traffic Diversion Plan for March 23, 2025
- Heavy Traffic Entry Ban: Entry of all types of heavy vehicles into Islamabad will be restricted from March 22, 2025, at 12:00 PM to March 23, 2025, at 3:00 PM.
- Road Closures:
- From 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM, both lanes of Srinagar Highway (7th Avenue to Korianwala Chowk) will be closed for traffic.
- Traffic heading towards Bhara Kahu should use 7th Avenue, Pak-China Road, Rawal Dam Chowk, Kashmir Chowk, and Club Road.
- Traffic Congestion Expected: Due to diversions, Srinagar Highway and Expressway may experience traffic congestion.
Alternate Routes for Heavy Traffic
- Heavy vehicles traveling from Peshawar to Lahore should use Taxila Motorway and Tarnol Phatak via Fateh Jang Motorway.
- Heavy vehicles traveling from Lahore (GT Road) to Islamabad/Rawalpindi should use Chak Beli Road to Chakri Motorway.
- Traffic from Peshawar (GT Road) to Rawat should use Taxila Motorway, Chakri, Chak Beli Road, and Rawat.
- Traffic from Lahore (GT Road) to Peshawar should use Rawat, Chak Beli Road, Chakri, and Taxila Motorway.
