The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a warning to citizens applying for identity cards and other documents, urging them to stay vigilant against fraudsters.
A NADRA spokesperson revealed that the authority has alerted the public to be cautious of fake pages, websites, emails, and messages circulating on the internet and social media that mimic NADRA’s name.
According to the spokesperson, some fraudulent elements are involved in deceptive activities, tricking people by offering assistance with NADRA-related services.
These scammers collect sensitive information, including identity details and fingerprints, to gain access to victims’ properties and bank accounts. To avoid falling prey to such scams, NADRA has advised citizens to use the NADRA Pak ID mobile app for processing their identity documents, which helps save time, money, and ensures the safety of their personal information.
The authority is also working closely with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to track down these fraudsters and take action against them.
NADRA has requested the public to report any suspicious activity to their helpline number, 1777, to help curb these fraudulent practices.
