As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the Government of Pakistan has announced new office timings for federal offices across the country.
The notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat’s Establishment Division on February 28, 2025, adjusted working hours to accommodate the spiritual and physical needs of employees during Ramadan, expected to begin around March 1st or 2nd, 2025.

For offices operating on a 5-day workweek, the schedule will run from Monday to Thursday and Friday, with timings set from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Meanwhile, offices functioning on a 6-day workweek, including Monday to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, will follow the same hours of 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
These changes aim to balance productivity with the observance of fasting, ensuring a smoother workflow during the sacred month.
The notification, set to be published in the next issue of the Gazette of Pakistan, applies to key institutions such as the President’s Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Secretariat, federal ministries, the Supreme Court, and various provincial chief secretariats.
This move reflects the government’s commitment to supporting its workforce while maintaining essential services.
Citizens and employees are encouraged to plan their visits or work schedules accordingly, especially for dealings with government offices.
The adjusted timings will remain in effect throughout Ramadan, fostering a supportive environment for all.
