The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will mark Women Entrepreneurship Day (WED) on November 19, 2024, in a grand event inaugurated by SBP Governor Mr. Jameel Ahmad. The event will bring together top officials from banks, non-bank institutions, and working women associations to honor the crucial contributions of women entrepreneurs to Pakistan’s economy.
As part of the celebration, high-performing banks that have consistently provided loans to female borrowers will receive special recognition awards. Additionally, awards will be presented to women-led businesses across various categories, celebrating their outstanding achievements in the entrepreneurial world.
The event will feature a mix of on-ground and virtual activities across Pakistan. Commercial banks will collaborate to create customized financial products for women-led businesses. Other initiatives include workshops, awareness campaigns about SBP’s SME financing, and mentorship programs aimed at empowering aspiring businesswomen and enhancing their eligibility for loans.
Women Entrepreneurship Day is a global initiative that recognizes women who drive innovation, create jobs, and play a significant role in economic growth. Despite their contributions, many women face challenges in accessing finance and business opportunities. Through this celebration, the SBP aims to inspire more women to pursue entrepreneurship and succeed in today’s competitive landscape.
