In a first for Pakistan, the transgender community is now eligible for Rs. 7,000 quarterly stipend under the Benazir Income Support Program’s (BISP) Kafalat Program 2023, which is part of the Income Support Program’s (BISP).
According to the Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Shazia Marri, the transgender community is now eligible for a Rs. 7,000 quarterly stipend under the Benazir Kafalat Program 2023.
The minister added that 50,000 transgender persons were registered with an organization, but registration with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) was mandatory for availing of stipend under the Benazir Kafalat Program 2023 provided by the BISP.
BISP Kafalat Program 2023 Registration for Transgender Persons
She asked the transgender community to register themselves with NADRA and later visit the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) center for further process to apply for the BISP Kafalat Program 2023 and get the Rs. 7,000 quarterly stipend.
As per details, so far only three transgender persons had registered with the BISP.
How to Apply for Benazir Kafalat Program 2023 for Transgenders?
Follow the steps to apply for the Benazir Kafalat Program 2023 for Transgenders:
- Visit tour nearest NADRA center and register as Transgender on your CNIC.
- Visit nearest BISP Office to enter the survey.
- Upon approval of application, an SMS will be received from 8171.
- Payment will be made from partner bank branch.
