My Review
I am a big fan of the first taken part 1 movie, it not only had professional cinematography but great action but filled with suspense and the originality. Now Taken 2 was the total opposite of the first, movies is filled with comedy rather than action, thriller and no suspense. The plot follows Liam Neeson after the events of the original and well its the pretty much an identical situation.
I cannot say this movie was terrible because it wasn’t, it was just a movie that could not even close live up to its predecessor due to lack of depth and originality.
This movie is utterly awful unless you are ready for a bad comedy. There are tons of flows. Albania doesn’t border Turkey. Istanbul is a magnificent city. In the movie it is portrayed as a third world country slam hole. Police in Istanbul have new cars. The girl doesn’t have a driver license in the US where everyone drives an automatic. Yet in the movie she hops in a stick shift cab and shows some amazing skills…So lame… Shots are fired in a hotel, grenades are detonated in a middle of a cosmopolitan city …and there’s no Police… The main character is taken on a ride for a few minutes and yet he appears to be almost next to the hotel. Albanians converse in English?
What went wrong in this movie :-
1. Turkish borders don’t look like parking lot barriers
2. Try shooting grenades and guns in Istanbul and count how fast special forces and police will be on your head ( Grande one after another and No sign of Police , Wow )
3. We discharged those ancient police cars in 1980s. didn’t you have budget for good ones?
4.US Army barricade in US embassy Istanbul??? shooting anything approaching???? That is so unrealistic.
5. Streets of Istanbul doesn’t exactly look like that, unless you sit and cherry pick the worst slums .
Overall, It’s just the character which played the same but lost the originality completely, I wouldn’t recommend you to go buy and watch the DVD, if you have panelty of time to waste barrow the DVD from your friend or watch it online.
5/10 – My Rating
I’m disappointed :(
