Fuzon Band began its journey back in 2001, and I was fortunate to be part of the team. I vividly remember the struggles and efforts that went into everything, from composing the music to naming the band. Emu (Imran) brought his best compositions to the table, and there’s no doubt that Shafqat Amanat Ali’s incredible vocals played a crucial role in propelling the band to success as it embarked on its musical voyage at full throttle.
In 2000/2001, computerized recording studios were a rarity, yet the entire “Saagar” album was recorded, mixed, and mastered digitally (DDD). Knowing the behind-the-scenes realities of how it all came together, it still brings a smile to my face. After every recording session, we would burn a CD and test it in my car’s CD player to see how it sounded. The actual mixing was far superior, but unfortunately, Sound Master didn’t capture its true essence. Otherwise, I believe listeners would have experienced something unprecedented in Pakistan.
“Saagar” was Fuzon’s debut album, and the title track remains one of my favorite songs to this day.
