In a tragic incident, at least 22 people have died and over 100 sustained injuries when 10 bogies of the Hazara Express traveling from Karachi to Rawalpindi derailed near Nawab Shah.
According to the details, the tragic train accident took place near Saharai Railway Station, which is located between Shahdatpur and Nawabshah.
The accident has caused traffic on the up track to be suspended.
Meanwhile, the injured were move to Peoples Medical Hospital in Nawabshah.
DC Nawabshah, Shahryar Gul Memon, said that an emergency has been declared in nearby hospitals and rescue operations are underway.
Ambulances and rescue staff are at the scene of the incident for relief operation.
Meanwhile, on the directions of DC Rangers Sindh, Major General Azhar Waqas, paramilitary forces have left for spot to assist the civil administration in the rescue and relief operation.
Railways Minister, Khawaja Saad Rafique, has stated that train was moving at normal speed, while sabotage or mechanical fault cannot be ruled out of the Hazara Express accident.
