LAHORE: The prime suspect in the motorway gang rape case, Abid Ali, reportedly surrendered and wasn’t arrested by police according to his father, Akbar Ali.
The father of the Lahore motorway gang rape suspect says that Abid Malhi contacted him a month after the incident wanting to surrender to police to end harassment of family.

However, all these claims made the the father of the Lahore motorway gang rape suspect have been denied by IGP Inam Ghani who told Express News, “We have been doing everything we can to arrest him,”
Abid Ali tells father “You betrayed me”
Although Geo News reported that upon his arrest, Abid Ali told his family that they had “betrayed him’ which seems that he wasn’t willing to surrender himself.
According to the report, Abid Malhi came home and was asking his mother to make food when his family contacted the police and turned him into their custody.

Abid Ali was identified as one of the prime suspects in the Lahore motorway gang rape incident that occurred on 9th September 2020.
A woman traveling with her children was gang raped at the motorway by Abid and his accomplice Shafqat after their car broke down and they were waiting for assistance.
