Pakistani airlines have reportedly increased their ticket prices and started charging Rs. 500,000 to Rs. 800,000 for one-way ticket from Pakistan to China, which has started causing a lot of problems for Pakistani students, who are unable to pay such hefty fares.
According to the details, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has also increased their fares to Rs. 505,000 for a one-way ticket from Pakistan to China, which has caused great stress to students who cannot pay such a high price of airline tickets.
Furthermore, the matter has started trending on social media with hashtag #PIALootingPakStudents as students highlight the problem and ask government to take some action against these unjustified ticket prices being charged by Airlines for one-way trip from Pakistan to China.

Don't destroy our future. Middle class students can't effort your 500k ticket instead of 50k rupees

It bears mentioning that a regular ticket price from Pakistan to China was Rs. 70,000 before the coronavirus pandemic. However, this has increased multiple fold in the past two years, which has caused problems for students. However, an increase to Rs. 500,000 to Rs. 800,000 seems a little unjustified even considering hike in fuel prices.
Some people also pointed out that that hike in fares (Rs. 500,000) was only applicable to tickets being purchased for direct flight from Pakistan to China, while a same flight cost Rs. 130,000 from China to Pakistan. Dr Asmat Malik, who pointed out the difference between both prices, has appealed to the Minister for Aviation, Khawaja Saad Rafique, to look into the matter and explain the problem.
Dear PM @CMShehbaz PIA looting passengers. 5 hours direct flight fare charges 550k, Pak to China. Same flight from China to Pakistan 130k, @amarshadmalik @KhSaad_Rafique could you explain this difference. Boeing 777 capacity 300 why you booked 100 seats?#PIALootingPakStudents pic.twitter.com/RPJowoNNSU
