The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfully seized a total of 157.8 kilograms of drugs and apprehended six individuals, according to a spokesperson from ANF Headquarters. The operations, conducted across various regions of Pakistan, demonstrate the agency’s ongoing commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring public safety.
Seizure Details
The first operation took place at Faisalabad Airport, where 194 grams of ‘Ice’ (crystal methamphetamine) were recovered from a passenger bound for Bahrain. The individual was promptly arrested, and the drugs were confiscated.
In a significant operation on the Lahore-Sargodha road, ANF personnel intercepted a vehicle, leading to the discovery of 86.4 kilograms of hashish and 34.8 kilograms of opium. The occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to uncover the network behind this large-scale trafficking.
Another 30 kilograms of hashish were recovered in Lahore from two suspects near Rahman Garden. This seizure marks yet another success in the ANF’s efforts to curtail the distribution of narcotics in urban areas.
Hyderabad, a suspect was apprehended near a university with 5 kilograms of hashish in his possession. The operation highlights the ANF’s vigilance in monitoring areas around educational institutions, where drug peddling poses a significant threat to students and the broader community.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, an individual was arrested near Sohrab Goth with 950 grams of hashish. Sohrab Goth, a known hotspot for drug-related activities, remains under the close watch of law enforcement agencies.
The sixth operation was conducted in Islamabad, where 500 grams of hashish were recovered from a foreign national near G-10 Markaz. The suspect’s arrest reflects the ANF’s continued efforts to address the drug menace within the capital.
