The Federal Government has revised its guidelines for the AstraZeneca vaccine allowing citizens to get the jab which was earlier restricted to those over the age of 40.
The decision was made after several protests across the country asking the government to allow use of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health Dr Faisal Sultan has said that anyone traveling to Saudi Arabia can get the vaccine after showing their documentation.
This provides a major relief to Pakistanis waiting to travel to Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom has only approved Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
In other news, the provinces of Sindh and Punjab are considering blocking SIM cards of unvaccinated citizens in an attempt to encourage more people to get inoculated.
