Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has announced more winter vacations for schools and colleges from January 5 to January 15 due to a the severe cold wave in the region.
A notification has been issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Bhimbhar that states schools found in violation of the order shall face strict action, which may include closure and cancellation of registration.
He stated that no negligence will be tolerated when it comes to students’ health, adding that orders have been dispatched to the administration of the three tehsils.
In related news, the Government of Punjab has also extended winter vacations from January 1 to January 15 due to the severe cold wave across the province. The development came in compliance with orders issued by the Lahore High Court (LHC) in response to a petition.
