BAHAWALNAGAR BLAST – At least three people were killed while another 59 were injured during an explosion targeting an Ashura procession in Bahawalnagar on Thursday.
According to the details, the blast in Bahawalnagar was caused by a hand grenade thrown by a man at a procession passing by Jamia Masjid in Muhajir Colony around 10am in the morning.
The three people killed in the explosion in Bahawalnagar have been shifted to the Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital along with the injured who are undergoing treatment.
The attacker has been taken into custody as per reports.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar chaired a high-level meeting at the Safe City Authority and ordered the Counter Terrorism Department to submit a detailed report on the Bahawalnagar blast after completing the investigation.

It bears mentioning that authorities had already suspended mobile signals in major cities along the path of the processions in order to maintain security.
