QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has extended the smart lockdown in the province by another 15 days till 17 August 2020 as the coronavirus threat is still present and social distancing is required for safety of human lives according to the notification issued by the Home and Tribal Affairs Department of Balochistan.
According to a notification issued by the Balochistan Home and Tribal Affairs Department regarding the extension in the Balochistan lockdown, there shall be no public gatherings including religious gatherings in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Wearing of face masks has been made mandatory in public and more than two persons are not allowed to travel in a except certain exemptions where person is sick, being carried or requires such attendence.
Furthermore, educational institutions will remain closed including schools, colleges, universities, coaching centers and madaris.
However, shopping malls, markets, shops / stores outlets can operate from 9:00AM till 10:00PM for six days a week (Saturday to Thursday) while Friday will be observed with a complete lockdown for the business community.
There will be however an exemption for essential businesses like grocery stores, medical stores, restaurants (take away and delivery only), tandoors, fruits and vegetable shops, meat shops etc.
