The Government of Balochistan has decided to launch the Green Bus Service in Quetta within the next three months.
According to the details, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has directed the Chief Secretary to ensure the launch of the Green Bus Service in the provincial capital of Quetta within the next three months.
During the tenure of the former Chief Minister, Jam Kamal Khan, the government had planned to procure 100 buses to improve travel services in Quetta. At the time, the Government had procured 8 buses to operate on the Baleli and Saryab routes during the first phase.
However, the service was discontinued after Khan’s tenure was cut short due to the vote of no confidence and the incumbent government blamed the previous one for inadequate feasibility report regarding the service.
Furthermore, it is being reported that construction of Quetta’s Saryab Road will conclude by May, after which, Green Bus Service will start operating on the Baleli and Saryab Routes.
