QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan bans all types of religious processions including Youm e Ali on 15th May, 2020 to curb the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.
The notification was issued by the Home and Tribal Affairs Department of Balochistan in line with the Federal Government’s decision to restrict all types of religious gatherings to get a handle on the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier Khyber Pakthunkhwa also banned Youm-e-Ali processions including all types of religious gatherings according to the notification issued by the KP Government.
The interior Ministry also issued to notice regarding SOPs to be followed for Eid Prayers and the notification also directed provinces to restrict all Youm-e-Ali processions.

The notification issued titled “Ban on All Types of Religious Processions” states:
I am directed to refer to and to stat that Youm e Ali is being celebrated on 21st Ramzan (15th May,2020) throughout the Province. Owing to COVID-19 crisis, The Government of Balochistan has already imposed ban on all typres of religious procession vide this Department’s letter Dated 4th May, 2020. Moreover, The Federal Government has also directed all the Provincial Governments not to permit for any religious processions.
Therefore, all concenred are required to engage with Ulemas of Ehl e Tashi and apprise them about the escalating ration of COVID-19 cases so that processions on Youm e Ali could be avoided.
