KARACHI: Another earthquake struck several cities of Sindh and Balochistan on Saturday , 7.2 magnitude quake jolts parts of Balochistan‚ Sindh The epicenter of the tremor was about 150 kilometers of Khuzdar.
A major earthquake of seven point two on the Richter scale jolted different parts of Balochistan and Sindh this afternoon. According to the Met Office‚ the epicenter of the tremor was about one hundred and fifty kilometers of Khuzdar.
The areas where tremors were felt included Quetta‚ Khuzdar‚ Awaran‚ Kech‚ Panjgur‚ Jaffarabad‚ Naseerabad‚ Chaghi‚ Dera Allah Yar‚ Dalbandi‚ Kashmore‚ Karachi‚ Larkana and Shahdad Kot.
Pakistan’s Met office measured the earthquake at 7.2, while the US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded it at 6.8, The Chief Meteorologist Muhammad Tauseef Alam said that the earthquake, with Khusdar as its epicenter, was of magnitude 7.2 and 47km deep.
Some of the cities were tremors were felt are Karachi, Larkana, Sukkur, Quetta and Awaran.
According to USGS, the epicenter of the earthquake was close to Awaran. On Tuesday a 7.7 earthquake struck southwest Pakistan leading to massive destruction in the Awaran district of Balochistan. Over 400 people lost their lives and several houses were destroyed.
