QUETTA – At least four train passengers were killed and 12 others sustained injured when a remote-controlled blast struck Jaffar Express on outskirts of Quetta, local media reported on Sunday.
According to media reports, the explosive targeted the Rawalpindi-bound Jaffar Express when it reached Dasht area, located a few kilometers from Quetta and bordering Mastung district.
Police said the blast hit third bogie of the train, partially damaging it. Security forces and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured to hospital.
Police said remote-controlled explosive material was planted by terrorists on the railway track to target Jaffar Express that was also hit by a similar bomb attack last year in which five people were killed.
