Khushab District Police Officer (DPO) Capt (r) Tariq Wilayat said that the matter was being investigated but it was doubtful that the bank manager was shot over blasphemy.
According to the police, the murder might have been committed due to personal enmity as Malik Imran Hanif and Ahmad Nawaz were having verbal arguments since the past few days.
It is pertinent to mention that the security guard was fired a while back but later rehired when the said arguments started between him and the bank manager for the NBP branch in Khushab.
The police says that a First Information Report (FIR) will be registered regarding the matter when the deceased’s family lodges a proper complaint. Although, the matter was being investigated.
