RAWALPINDI: At least 25 people have been injured in a blast near Ganj Mandi police station at Raja Bazar in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

According to the details provided by Tribune, the rescue operations are underway and 22 victims have been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospitals, whereas three were provided first aid on the spot.
Some of the victims of of the blast are said to be in critical condition and an investigation has been initiated into the incident according to police officials.
According to CPO Rawalpindi Ahsan Younus, this was the second blast in Rawalpindi within the past 10 days. He added that the nature of today’s blast was still being determined.
According to Dawn, the 1122 rescue officials stated that the blast occurred at a filtration plant near Ganj Mandi police station at Raja Bazar in Rawalpindi. The victims of the blast were mostly innocent bystanders.
The area has been cordoned off and officials from the Counter-Terrorism Department and Forensic experts have arrived on the scene for investigation.
Meanwhile, the government has ordered to beef up the security at the PDM Jalsa in Lahore after after the blast in Rawalpindi.
