NAWABSHAH: In yet another sexual abuse case, a brother rapes his 13-year-old sister multiple times before killing her and then burned her body to hide the evidence of the heinous crime in Nawabshah.
The incident took place in Mir Hasan village of Nawabshah District where the body of the minor girl was found burnt in a field after search operation was launched when her brother, Iftikhar Rind, reported her missing a day earlier from outside their house.
The police and rescue officials rushed to the scene after being informed and shifted the body of the 13-year-old girl to the hospital for medico-legal formalities and registered a case into the murder.
The police then started an investigation into the matter and arrested Iftikhar Rind over suspicion of murdering his own sister. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tanveer Tunio, the brother had confessed to the crime during interrogation.
Rind was reportedly blackmailing his sister after he discovered that she was friends with another boy and eventually raped her. Later, the victim’s brother killed her as he thought that she might call him out and tried to burn the body to hide the evidence.
There has been a significant rise in violence and sexual abuse cases against women and children across the country with a #JusticeFor hashtag trending almost every other day.
Last week, prime minister Imran Khan said that the government will be announcing a stringent anti-rape ordinance this week after the horrific rape case involving a mother and her four-year-old daughter being gang-raped for days caught public attention.
