In a tragic incident, a Bykea rider has been shot dead in Islamabad by unknown robbers (dacoits) during a robbery attempt near old Toll Plaza on GT Road. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Saddam Shaukat from Bagh area in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the unknown robbers under sections 302 and 397 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and started the investigation.
Furthermore, the victim’s cousin, Haroon Rashid, also filed a complaint about the incident and told police that Saddam Shaukat lived with him in Islamabad and worked as a Bykea rider to earn money for his family.
He added that Saddam was in the middle of a Bykea ride when unknown persons opened fire at him near the old Toll Plaza on GT Road, adding that his cousin suffered two bullet injuries and died, while the unknown robbers fled with his motorcycle.
The body of the Bykea rider has been moved to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad for an autopsy.
Haroon Rashid, the cousin of the Bykea rider that was killed in Islamabad, had requested the police to register a case against the culprits and bring them to justice.
