ISLAMABAD: Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, in an important development towards further improving the emergency and disaster response capability and infrastructure in Islamabad, handed over a state-of-the-art fire tender vehicle to the Islamabad Fire Service.
The fire tender vehicle, also known as a fire truck or fire engine, is a specialized vehicle used to transport firefighting equipment and water to extinguish fires and deal with emergencies.

The handover ceremony of the fire tender vehicle was held on Wednesday at the CDA Headquarters, which was attended by Member Admin, Member Planning, officials from the Building Control Section and Emergency & Disaster Management Directorate, as well as other senior officers of CDA.
According to details, the fire tender vehicle has been provided to CDA by Pakistan Telecommunication Employees Trust (PTET), while this process was made possible through the special efforts of the Director General Building of CDA’s Building Control Wing. This step has been taken to enhance the existing capabilities of CDA’s Emergency & Disaster Management Directorate to improve the response capacity to fire and rescue emergencies in the federal capital.

The newly acquired fire tender vehicle consists of 12 wheels, is equipped with a 4×4 drive system, and has advanced operational capabilities. It was obtained from a private building management with the support of CDA’s Building and Housing Wing. During the ceremony, the fire tender vehicle was formally handed over to the Emergency & Disaster Management Directorate.
Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, while appreciating the services of the BCS and Emergency & Disaster Management Directorate, said that this addition to CDA’s emergency response fleet is an important step towards ensuring immediate and effective response to fire incidents in Islamabad. He said that CDA is committed to utilizing all available resources to modernize emergency services and enhance public safety.

The new fire tender vehicle will significantly strengthen fire extinguishing and rescue operations, which will improve performance and accessibility in urban, suburban, and difficult terrain and fire outbreak situations within the Islamabad Capital Territory.
