KARACHI: The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan has strongly condemned a recent attack on a convoy carrying Chinese staff from the Port Qasim Electric Power Company (Private) Limited. The incident occurred near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on the night of October 6, resulting in the deaths of two Chinese nationals, injuries to one other, and casualties among local individuals.
In an official statement, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Pakistan expressed their deep condolences to the victims’ families and sympathies to those injured. The embassy affirmed its commitment to working closely with Pakistani authorities to address the aftermath of the tragic incident.
Following the attack, an emergency plan has been activated by the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General. The embassy has called on the Pakistani government to conduct a thorough investigation, bring the perpetrators to justice, and ensure the safety of Chinese citizens, enterprises, and projects operating within Pakistan.
The embassy also urged Chinese citizens and companies in Pakistan to remain vigilant, enhance security measures, and take necessary precautions in light of the current security situation.
