KARACHI – Cinepax cinema city auditorium located in F.B Area Karachi has been sealed due to violation of KMC contract. The party to which the land was allotted handed it over to a third party.
According to local media reports, “The area was supposed to be a centre for educational and cultural activities but was turned into a cinema,” said the statement issued by the KMC. Insiders in the city administration said, however, that the KMC wants to turn the venue into a city council house.
Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui who has been given the additional charge of the KMC administrator told a local media that the company operating the cinema violated KMC’s contract. However, Cinepax General Manager said that he have receipts of all bills he has paid in last three years.
Cinepax cinemas operate under Cinepax limited and claims to be first premier movie theaters in Pakistan. It has various cinemas across Pakistan including Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore and Karachi.
