FAISALABAD: During a recent speech at Agriculture University Faisalabad, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the country’s progress hinges on good governance and effective politics. She criticized the opposition for their hollow slogans and poor governance over the past six years, stating that terrorism will not create employment opportunities for the youth.

In her address, Maryam announced the launch of the largest-ever Kissan Package designed to support farmers across the province. The initiative includes the introduction of the Green Tractors Scheme, which offers subsidies for large tractors to enhance agricultural productivity. Additionally, she unveiled plans to establish agricultural malls in South Punjab to provide farmers with comprehensive facilities.
Highlighting her government’s commitment to merit-based employment, Maryam stated that young individuals are now receiving monthly salaries of Rs 60,000. She encouraged the youth to critically consider Pakistan’s future, questioning whether they prefer a culture of hate or one that fosters prosperity.

Maryam also shared that over 1 million applications had been submitted for Kissan Cards, with 300,000 farmers qualifying for interest-free loans. She emphasized the successful establishment of Women Virtual Police Stations aimed at enhancing women’s safety in the region.
In closing, the Chief Minister reiterated her vision for making essential goods more affordable, including plans to reduce bread prices in Punjab. Through these initiatives, Maryam Nawaz aims to lay the groundwork for a more prosperous and secure future for the people of Punjab.
