Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has promised to give Rs. 1 million to each family that has lost a loved one to street crime while fighting or resisting during snatching incidents this year.
During a speech at the Sindh Assembly, CM Shah expressed sadness over the deaths of 84 people who lost their lives due to street crimes this year and apologized to the families for not visiting them.
It is pertinent to mention that street crime has been increasing in Sindh, especially in Karachi and Hyderabad. “We will provide Rs. 1 million to the families of all those who lost their lives due to street crime since January.” CM Shah stated.
The announcement comes due to increasing incidents of street crime and rising concerns about safety in the province. However, the government of Sindh has decided to compensate families for the loss of a loved one instead of improving the law and order situation.
