The All Pakistan CNG Association has increased the CNG Price by Rs. 15 per KG in Sindh bringing the new rate of compressed natural gas (CNG) at Rs. 180 per KG. Meanwhile, the CNG Price has been increased by Rs. 8 per KG in Punjab and brought the new rate at Rs. 123 per KG.
“Prices have been increased in line with constant currency valuation and rising of prices of LNG.” said Association President Ghiyas Paracha. He added that price of imported gas has increased in Punjab by Rs. 8 in Punjab and Rs. 15 in Sindh from today.
“The increase in gas prices came on the back of the sales tax and dollar value,” he said while demanding an immediate reduction in taxes because of the hike in CNG price in Sindh and Punjab.
Massive Increase in Petrol Prices
It is pertinent to mention that on Thursday, the government announced a massive increase in the price of petrol in Pakistan from October 1.
According to the announcement, the price of petrol in Pakistan has been increased by Rs. 4 per litre for the first half of October while the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has also been raised by Rs. 2.00 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of Kerosene Oil has been increased by Rs. 7.05 per litre and the price of Light Diesel Oil (LDO) has been raised by Rs. 8.82 per litre for the first half of October 2021.
