The Government has reportedly placed containers outside of Islamabad D-Chowk in order to prevent PTI from holding their protest outside Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office on Thursday.
According to the details, the Government has closed all roads leading to the office of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) after Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced to hold a protest outside the office of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and demand the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Sikandar Sultan Raja.
“PTI will hold a peaceful protest out ECP office on Thursday against the conduct of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja,” said Imran Khan while addressing the meeting of the party’s National Council on Thursday.
He accused the CEC of being “partisan and dishonest” and alleged that Sikandar Sultan Raja tried to sabotage the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). He added that countries like India and Iran are using Electronic Voting Machines but the ECP has denied use of such system for holding polls here.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that PTI has planned to create chaos in the name of protest against ECP. He added that the Government will now allow PTI supporters permission to hold protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as it falls under high security area of Islamabad, the ‘Red Zone’ area.
Therefore, the Government has reportedly put containers at D-Chowk in order to thwart the PTI Protest against the Election Commission of Pakistan.
