The total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged to 1,890 with over a 100 cases even before the day is finished and will likely rise further as the day comes to an end.
The death toll in Pakistan is recorded at 25 with Punjab having the most number of fatalities at nine and also the most number of cases in the country at 658.
There have been cases of medical workers getting sick with the coronavirus and even loosing their lives with the latest case from Gilgit Baltistan where a medical worker lost his life after contracting the virus from a one of the patients.
To try and raise awareness and help provide the public with the latest and accurate information on the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Pakistan has launched a Coronavirus WhatsApp helpline.

Pakistan Railways is doing its part and has turned train coaches into quarantine wards and is making sure medical supplies, food and other facilities are provided round the clock.

Global Update
The total number of coronavirus cases globally has crossed 800,000 and total deaths are over 39,000 with the United States having the most number of cases in the world.
The United States has 164,435 COVID-19 cases which is the highest of any country in the world and this figure has probably gone up since the number is rising faster then they’re updated online. There were over 14,000 new cases in the country yesterday.
The number of deaths in the United States is also rising rapidly now with hundreds of fatalities every single day and the total number of deaths is 3,175 and rising rapidly.
However, Italy has the highest number of cases in the world with close to a 1,000 fatalities every single day and the number of deaths has now crossed 11,500 with the total number of COVID-19 cases over 102,000 making it the country with the second highest number of cases.
Spain has the second highest number of coronavirus deaths at over 8,200 and similar to Italy it is getting the second highest number of fatalities a day with the highest number recorded at over 800 in a single day. The number of cases in Spain is the third highest with 94,417 cases and thousands of cases are emerging every day.
China now has the coronavirus outbreak under control with very limited new cases emerging and the country is slowly getting back to normal with lockdowns in the country being lifted.
