The total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan has surged to 3,156 with over 300 new cases recorded on Sunday and the death toll has rose to 47 and the number are rising rapidly.
Punjab which has the highest number of coronavirus cases in the province reported one death of an 80 year old patient who belonged to Lahore while Sindh also reported one fatality although not much details were revealed about the patient.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported two COVID-19 deaths less now bringing the province death toll to 16 which is the highest in the country.

Global Update
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the world have surged past 1,260,000 with the death toll over 68,000 and the number keeps rising rapidly especially for the United States which is the new epicenter for the virus.
United States now has over 330,000 COVID-19 cases which makes up around 25% of the global cases and the country’s death toll has reached 9,444 with over 1,000 fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.
Italy has the highest death toll in the world at 12,887 with the third highest number COVID-19 cases over 129,000 although the country is seeing a significant decline in new cases as well as the number of deaths.
Spain on the other hand has a higher number of coronavirus cases with over 130.500 making this the country with the second highest number of cases but still no way near that of the United States. Spain also has the third highest death toll with 12,418 and just like Italy, it has seen a decline in the number of new cases.
