The total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged to 107,845 while the country’s death toll has reached 2,171. There were 4,564 more cases reported on Monday (8 June 2020) along with a total of 107 more fatalities from across the country. This is the highest reported death toll in a single day.
Sindh reported 29 more fatalities according to the coronavirus update issued by the Provincial Health and Population Department. This brings the provincial death toll to 679 while total cases in Sindh have reached 39,555.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department reported 12 more fatalities bringing the provincial death toll to 587 while total cases in the province have reached 14,006.
Punjab reported 58 more fatalities which brings the provincial death toll to 773 according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). The number of cases have reached 40,819.
Balochistan reported four more fatalities bringing the confirmed provincial death toll to 58 while the probable death toll has remains at 54. The number of cases in the province have reached 6,788 according to the Daily Situation Report issued by the Balochistan Health Department.
Islamabad reported three more fatalities according to the District Health Office Islamabad. This brings the death toll of the capital city to 52 while number of cases have reached 5,329. The following is the distribution of cases across the city.
Gilgit Baltistan reported more fatality according to the Daily Situation Report issued by the GB Health Department. This brings regional death toll to 14 while number of cases have reached 952.
No deaths were reported from Azad Jammu and Kashmir however, number of cases have reached 396 according to the Government of Pakistan’s COVID-19 Dashboard.
