Total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged past 4,792 with over 300 cases being reported today along with five deaths from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bringing the country’s death toll to 71.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the only province to report any deaths today and those were reported by the Health and Finance Minister Taimur Jhagra.
This brings the death toll of the province to 25 which is the highest in the country where as Punjab has the highest number of coronavirus cases.

Global Update
The global number of coronavirus cases have surged past 1.68 million and the death toll has now crossed 101,000 with the United States having the most amount of confirmed cases in the world.
The United States has over 489,500 confirmed COVID-19 cases which makes up over 25 percent of the global cases and the death toll of the country is now over 18,000 and the second highest. The country is reporting over 1,500 deaths and 25,000 cases each day.
Italy still has the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 18,849 fatalities and 147,500 cases although since the death rate has declined, United States will soon take its place as the country with the highest death toll.
With 15,970 fatalities, Spain has the second highest death toll along with over 157,000 confirmed coronavirus cases. However, just like Italy, the country has seen a decline in the daily number of fatalities and new cases.
France has also seen an extreme rise in the number of daily deaths which were close to 1500 on Thursday however, there is a significant decline today. The total number of deaths due to coronavirus in Spain is 13,197 with over 124,500 cases making it fourth in both categories.
