Consul General of China to Karachi Li Bijian has advised the Sindh government to keep schools closed in the province and avoid any big gatherings until further notice after the number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan jumped to 20.
Li Bijian took to Twitter saying:
As 15 cases confirmed in Karachi, the spread of the virus is quick and actual. The local Government of Sindh shall be advised to take more strong preventive measures including calling off big gatherings and extension of the closing of the schools to save more lives.
The diplomat also tweeted that lessons should be taken and learnt from Chinese experience with the coronavirus so that more lives could be saved.

Karachi has been the most affected city in Pakistan with 15 cases out of the total 20 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan.
The suggestion came a day after health officials in the province proposed extension of school holidays saying that Sindh schools should remain closed for longer over coronavirus fears.
Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah says that the decision regarding schools will be taken in a few days according to a Geo News report.
Currently all schools in the province are closed till 13 March 2020 after a decision was taken earlier this month as a step to try and control the spread of the virus.
In related news, Pakistan Super League (PSL 2020) matches are to take place as scheduled after proposal to ban public events including PSL 2020 yesterday by health officials in Sindh.
