ISLAMABAD: After a new case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been reported in the capital city of Islamabad, the total number of cases in Pakistan have risen to 29 in less than a week of its fifth confirmed case.
The patient is a 30 year old woman who arrived in Pakistan from the United States a few days ago according to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
According to sources, the woman is in critical condition and placed on a ventilator after being brought to PIMS from a private hospital.

Karachi has been most affected by the coronavirus with 15 confirmed cases in the city followed by Gilgit Baltistan where a total of 5 cases have been reported.
The novel coronavirus has infected over 146,000 people and taken lives of over 5,400 people globally with most of the cases in China where the virus originated in their Hubei province.
So far the Pakistan government is taken every precaution to try and control the spread of the coronavirus including shutting down all educational institutions in the country till April 5th, 2020.

The government of Sindh however preponed summar vacations and closed all educational institutions till May 30th, 2020 amid coronavirus fears.
